Aakash was launched in the spirit of friendship

A Pakistani software company and its mobile applications subsidiary have offered to add value to the low-cost PC tablet, ‘Aakash’, launched by India last week in the spirit of “friendship and cooperation in South Asia” that would make the device more useful and effective for end users.

Unveiling their plans soon after Aakash was launched, FiveRivers Technologies and Pepper.pk — both Lahore-based companies — said once the tablet hits the markets as scheduled in November, Pepper.pk would begin porting a relevant subset of its over 150 applications to the new platform.

Pakistani app company to start developing for Aakash tab

A Pakistani technology company that specializes in creating mobile applications has announced that it will create apps to support India’s low cost Aakash tablet.

Pepper.pk, which is the mobile applications subsidiary of Pakistani technology company Five Rivers, said it would begin porting a relevant subset of their over 150 applications to the new platform.

P@SHA holds Oscar night 2011 to recognize innovation

Now in its 8th year, the P@SHA ICT Awards have become recognized as the flagship ICT industry event in Pakistan. Techies pay tribute to Steve Jobs

The untimely death of Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple.Inc and one of the greatest inventors of the modern times has shocked the world. As a tribute to the great legend of invention in the realm of information technology, the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) began their 8th annual awards this year with Steve’s commencement address at the Stanford University, his words, spoken in 2005, astonishingly rang true on the day of his death: “Remembering that you are going to die is the best way, I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.”
